I'm using a wireless printer/scanner MG3600 series from my Mac running OS10.14.1 I can't figure out how to opt for only black-and-white printing when the document or image has color on it. I'm unable to find a 'grayscale' option anywhere under the print menus from any application. To print a document in black-and-white from the Preview app in OS X, you need to find the Grayscale Printing option. For reasons that escape me, it's not among the many options and settings listed.

If document is a word document try the following:

Open Document and select entire Document:
then:

Format menu > Fonts
Click More Colors as show here:

Next when this menu opens choose this tab as show in this shot:

Choose Black.

Click Okay, then Okay again to get out of all menus

All font colors should turn to Black

If you want to save the document under another Name.

not make sure when you save document that you do not save changes in in
'normal' (template used to start all documents when you use word.)

and make sure the item I have highlighted with the arrow is check before
quitting without saving document, or saving document and quitting.

When you dismiss the document after saying it should ask you if you wish
to save changes in normal choose 'no'.

I've checked in my printer and there is no way to set to print B&W only.
The only other way is to scan document save as a *jpeg* image Then use
'Graphic Converter to convert to B&W or Gray scale then Print it out.
